Enter your email address:
The first screen (Home page) asks for your email address so we know where to send the emailhtml.com email instructions and reminders.
You are then taken to the second screen which gives you the option of a 7 day free trial period or to sign up for one year's subscription. Click on the '7 day free trial subscription button' to proceed.
After the 7 day trial period your email address is deleted if you decide not to subscribe to the full service.
(Click here to see an example of the first screen. Click here to see an example of the second screen)

Enter five basic details:
The third screen asks you for five basic details:
(Click here to see an example screen)

  1. The email alias (Emailhtml ID) you wish to create (something easy to remember) such as my.name@emailhtml.com
You are allowed to have a full stop in your alias such as j.smith@emailhtml.com
  2. Your first name. - This is so we can personalise our emails to you and your Control Panel
  3. Your last name.
    Enter buddy email address:
  4. Your buddy's (helper's) email address. This is optional. Your buddy can be a friend who already uses emailhtml.com and who can help you learn the system. Your buddy will receive copies of all your emailhtml.com emails so they can see what you are trying to do and how the emailhtml.com robot is responding. This makes it easy for them to correct your mistakes or to provide advice.
Equally if a manager wants to monitor how staff update a website using emailhtml.com they can do so by becoming the buddy.
  5. Password - this needs to be entered twice. A minimum of 6 characters is recommended.

(Click here to see an example of the final screen)

  1. Your emailhtml.com email address:
    for example my.name@emailhtml.com

  2. Please visit your Control Panel first:
A blue underlined link to which will take you strait to your Control Panel. The Control Panel is the heart of the system and provides you with all the information about the website and pages you will create.

  3. In a hurry? Create your first web page:
Click on the blue underlined link which will open your Outlook Express program.
We have preloaded the email TO field with your emailhtml.com email address.
We have also preloaded your password:index.htm in the SUBJECT field/oblong box.
(    :index.htm after your password tells the system to creat a web page called index.htm
You can create other pages with other names.
:index.htm:delete after your password will delete the page.
Each time you send an email to a named page it over writes the previous information)
Type in a message in the body of the email (the biggest blank box).
Hit SEND and make sure that the email has gone from your Outbox.
Go back to your browser and click on the link to your web page where you will see the result.
( The Web map in your Control Panel will provide the same information)
If there is nothing there you may have forgotten to send your email!
The robot will tell you if there are any other mistakes.

  4. Then view your first web page:
We recommend you go to your Control Panel and using your Website Map link and follow the link to the page index.htm.

What is emailhtml.com:
emailhtml.com allows you to create and update web pages using Outlook Express, Hotmail, Yahoo mail, AOL and other email programs.

Outlook Express, in RICH TEXT HTML mode, is the best email program for this purpose. Its text editor functions allow you to create your web page with images, hyperlinks, different fonts, text colours, sound files etc.

The pages you design using your email program are uploaded/dispatched by your email program and the emailhtml.com robot converts them into web pages.

emailhtml.com is the first product in the world to enable web publishing to operate entirely within an email environment.

Content from other programs, such as Word and Excel, can be pasted into an Outlook Express email to help create your web pages.

emailhtml.com also provides you with Dynamic Java Script Code for each web page you design, which can be added to any number of web pages. The contents of your email will simultaneously be updated on all web pages where this code is used.

Can I build a web site using emailhtml.com

Yes - You can build a web site using your email program. You are limited to the web space you are allocated, but not the number of pages, provided the web space they use does not exceed the 250K provided. We have created a basic set of instructions to help you create your first web site. Click here to view them. You will need to master two things. 1. How to create a link between web pages. 2. How to put the basic instruction in your email which sets up a web page. The rest will come easily through simple trial and error.

TOP
Can emailhtml.com handle pictures:
emailhtml.com does handle pictures. To keep your web page quick to upload and to download we recommend you make your pictures no bigger than 20K to 30K in size. CLICK HERE to see a web page using images of this size. The emailhtml.com robot has no constraints in handling images and web pages of any size, however as the upload/dispatch of your page is by email, you might be frustrated by the time it takes to send large emails. Currently we have limited the size of an email handled by emailhtml.com to 250K. This ensures that the uploads and dispatch of emails will be fast.

TOP
Can I format text:
Outlook Express gives you the option to select font, text size and colour when you set the format to Rich Text (HTML). Click here to see a picture of Outlook Express in HTML edit mode

TOP
Can I include sound files in my page:
Outlook Express does allows you to add a background sound track to your web page.
Click here to see the first step involved. Click here to see the second step involved.

TOP
How big a page or pages can I create:
To keep your web pages quick to upload and to download we have set the total size of all your web pages to 250K. The emailhtml.com robot has no constraints in handling images and web pages of any size, however as the upload/dispatch of your page is by email, you might be frustrated by the time it takes to send large emails if you are on a slow connection. Currently we have limited the size of an email sent to emailhtml.com to 250K. This ensures that the uploads and dispatch of emails will be fast.

Can I design a web page in Word:
Word can be used to design your web page. When you have designed the page in Word, click the right button of your mouse with the mouse pointer over the page concerned. Then click on SELECT ALL in the drop down menu which will appear. Click again using the right button of your mouse with the mouse pointer over the page concerned. Click on COPY in the drop down menu. Open up a NEW MAIL in Outlook Express, go to the FORMAT option in the top line of the email screen. Select RICH TEXT (HTML) from the drop down menu. Click in the body of the email (where you normally type). Click the right button of your mouse. Click on PASTE in the drop down menu. The contents of your Word document will be transferred. You will need to use the INSERT, PICTURE option in Outlook Express to transfer the images from the Word document to the same point in your Outlook Express design.

You need to know the size of your images. When you import an image into your Word document you need to click the right button of your mouse with the mouse pointer over the image concerned. Click on PROPERTIES from the drop down menu. This will tell you the size of the image, what type it is (jpg or gif) and its size in bytes: note 26345 = 27K. The secret is to create a simple page in Word with a single example of a feature you want to incorporate. Then go through the whole process of pasting it into your email, dispatching the email and finaly reviewing the resulting web page. When you are confident in the process, start to expand your design.

Can I design a web page using OUTLOOK EXPRESS:
OUTLOOK EXPRESS in Rich Text (Html) mode possesses the functionality to create a web page with photographs, text formatting, background colours or a tile. To create a table with prices and dates in rows and columns it is easiest to design it in Word or another word processor. Paste the design into your email and do any final editing within the email. Alternatively, an existing table on the internet can be viewed and copied from your web browser. Use the right button of your mouse to - Select All - the content of the page. Copy and paste from the web browser into your email and modify as required. Click here to see a web page designed using the functions provided by Outlook Express.

TOP
Can I design a web page using AOL MAIL:
AOL MAIL has a range of functions which allow you to add pictures, fonts, sizes and colours to text, plus a range of formatting. However the scope is not comparable with Outlook Express. AOL constantly upgrades its services and will probably shortly match the HTML functions offered by other email programs. (The limiting factor is your email program not the emailhtml.com robot) Click here - www.emailhtml.com/users/example.aol/ to see a web page designed using the functions provided by AOL Mail.

TOP
I can design a web page using AOL MAIL but I want to have more functions to use with emailhtml.com
Go online using your AOL account and sign up for a Yahoo Mail account. The Yahoo mail account will provide the options you require at no extra cost.

TOP
Can I design a web page using HOTMAIL:
HOTMAIL has a range of functions comparable to Outlook Express (see above). You have to be online to use Hotmail so you can copy and paste using online resources gathered from your browser and then adapt the content as required. emailhtml.com may be used on any computer. The convenience of a Hotmail account when you are on the move has now been extended to updating web pages by using the emailhtml.com service. An example might be the owner of two holiday cottages who, while abroad, could divert their emails to a Hotmail account and, by using emailhtml.com, could now update availability, prices, late cancellation offers etc. on their website from an internet cafe or any other online access available.
Click here - www.emailhtml.com/users/gardensincornwall/ to see a web page designed using the functions provided by Hotmail. Click here to see a screen capture of this page prepared online in Hotmail

TOP
Can I design a web page using YAHOO MAIL:
YAHOO MAIL has a range of functions comparable to Hotmail and Outlook Express (see above). The roaming flexibility of Yahoo Mail could be further extended by emailhtml.com to provide the means to update a website.

TOP
How do I correct my mistakes:
There are four options.
1. Word or other word processor - correct the mistake in your original document and repeat the whole process.
2. Outlook Express - go to your Draft folder (we recommend you keep a copy of your original email in the Draft folder for re-use and modification). Select the contents of the email in the draft folder. Paste the contents into a NEW EMAIL, edit it and send it off again.
3. Send a blank email to the emailhtml.com robot to create a blank page. When you are ready to submit your new content it will replace the blank page.
4. Send a blank email to the emailhtml.com robot and in the subject line put in your " password:thepagename.htm:delete " - The whole page (thepagename.htm) will be deleted.

TOP
How do I remove signatures and adverts from the bottom of my emails:
The problems you might encounter are as follows.
1. Virus checkers scan your email and then add a standard message.
2. www.incredimail.com adds a link to it's website
3. Most free online email resources add an advert and link to your email.

At the end of your email just add

:endemail

This command will strip out anything in the email that your program tries to insert.

TOP
How do I delete unwanted web pages:
Visit your Control Panel and use the Web Map link to see a list of all the pages you have created.

1. Send a blank email to the emailhtml.com robot and in the subject line put in
your " password:thepagename.htm:delete " - The page (thepagename.htm) will be deleted.

2. Return to the Control Panel and view your Web Map (You may need to use the REFRESH button) and you will see the page is no longer listed.

TOP
How do I add pictures if I create a web page using Outlook Express:
When adding a picture to an email in Outlook Express you need to select INSERT in the top line menu. Look for the PICTURE... tag in the drop down menu and the final options menu will appear. This final menu allows you to pick the image you wish to use from your computer hard drive and inserts it into the email.
Click here to see the Pictures tag. Click here to see the final options menu.

TOP
How do I get pictures which are large but not more then 30-40K in size:
I need a Free Image editor:
You need A FREE image editor. We recommend Irfan Skijan's - Irfan View - www.irfanview.com The program is only 808K and has every function you need to create those big lean images to pop into your emails. A search for "free image editors" on www.google.com will give you useful alternatives.

TOP
How does having a buddy's (helper's) email address help me:
The buddy email option can provide help from a friend. Your buddy, who might be an existing emailhtml.com user, will receive a copy of all the messages being sent to you by the emailhtml.com robot. If you make a mistake your buddy will see the error information being provided and will tell you how to put it right. You or your buddy can remove the buddy option at any time.

Once the buddy is signed off, you can reassign them as buddy, should you need further assistance, using your control panel.

TOP
How do I switch off my buddy's (helper's) email address:
To sign off your buddy go to the home page of emailhtml.com. Click on ACCESS MY ACCOUNTS. On your Control Panel look for the buddy email box. Click the DISABLE BUDDY button. That's it!

TOP
Can my buddy (helper) disable/remove their email address:
A buddy email address which the buddy has not authorised can easily be removed by them. The buddy can use the Remove button at the bottom of the emails they receive from the emailhtml.com robot. The robot will remove the buddy email address.

TOP
How will I know when my subscription is up:
The Emailhtml robot will start to email you daily 7 days prior to the end of your subscription period. At the end of 7 days your account becomes dormant if you have not resubscribed. If you were away on holiday try accessing your account as normal and, if it is still active, you will be able to subscribe!

TOP
How do I incorporate an emailhtml.com web page into an existing web advert or website:
The Emailhtml robot provides a short line of Dynamic Java Script code for each of the pages you design. This code can be placed with in any number of web pages. The contents of your email will simultaneously update the web page in question and anywhere this code has been used.

You can also link to an emailhtml.com page using a straight link, for example http://www.emailhtml.com/users/your-account/index.htm If this is done within a frameset the source of the web page will not be readily apparent. If you register a domain with a service such as www.freeparking.co.uk and use http://www.emailhtml.com/users/your-account/index.htm as the page to which your domain points, you will have a fully functional website. Most importantly it will be a website which you can create and update by just using your email.

TOP
Can I cut and paste data from other Microsoft products into Outlook Express, Hotmail and Yahoo mail:
Depending on your expertise, data from other Microsoft products such as Excel and Word can be incorporated into any web page that you design in Outlook Express, Hotmail or Yahoo mail. emailhtml.com works extremely well when you cut and paste from your Microsoft Internet Explorer browser, whether online or offline.

TOP
How do I set Outlook Express so I have the maximum design options:
Firstly select NEW MAIL in Outlook Express. Then look for VIEW which is a button 3rd from the left in the top bar. Make sure that all the options are ticked ( Status Bar, Source Edit, Standard Buttons & Formating Bar). If this is done correctly 3 tabs will appear at the bottom of emails during editing, they are Edit, Source and Preview. If you know some html or just use your common sense you will be amazed what you can achieve.
Click here to see the VIEW options menu, Please note the tabs at the bottom of the picture.

TOP
How fast do my design changes get updated:
You send off the email with your design and normaly an email is fast enough for you not to notice a time delay. However at a busy time emails can take a little longer to arrive. An advantage for the experienced user of the system is that once the email has gone, you can move on to another task knowing the update will proceed automatically.

I have designed a couple of web pages - How does anybody find them?:
The internet work by having links between web pages on websites. So to link your pages into the internet you have to get your web page address placed on other websites. The webmaster can disguise the web address by putting words such as Click here to visit me above your real web address which is http://www.emailhtml.com/users/example/index.htm . However your real web address http://www.emailhtml.com/users/example/index.htm is still buried away under Click here to visit me.

Alternatively read up on the Page Inserter Code - there is a link to this information on your Control Panel, The link is at the bottom of the Control Panel. This code when inserted into web pages elsewhere on the internet creates a web link which PULLS the content of your web page into another web page on that website!

www.google.com is the most popular search engine in the world. You need to tell www.google.com that you have a web page http://www.emailhtml.com/users/example/index.htm .They provide clear instructions on how to get your web pages listed on www.google.com. Anybody researching on www.google.com a topic covered by your web page will find your page.

Add/Edit Pages:
To get started enter your alias and password on the home page. Click enter. Click on the link to My Pages. Enter a name for your first page in the text box and click 'Add Page'. The editor is then displayed, those without broadband have to be a little patient. The editor generates two lines of buttons and a design box. Simply type in some text in the blank design box provided by the editor, apply some simple formatting e.g. colour, size etc. to your text using the editors option buttons, then save this page and view your results by clicking the link for the page in My Pages control panel. Creating better layouts use a table then insert text and pictures within the table, adding extra rows and columns to the table will help with formatting. More control of your design can be achieved by creating a table within a column or row of your main table.

TOP
Upload Images:
The editor has a gallery from which you select your pictures. You must upload the pictures you require from your computer to the gallery. Use the My Pictures link both on the main menu and My Pages. Irrespective of the size of your pictures on your computer, the uploaded pictures are automatically resized to a maximum of 500 pixels wide. You can make a picture smaller. However if you make a mistake and a picture is too small you will need to re-upload the picture from your computer to the gallery. Once a picture is in the gallery you simply select it using the image button provided on the editor.

Top Tip:
It really is best to start with a simple design, save it, view the results and then make a SMALL improvement. Keep repeating this and you will be surprised how quickly you get on. Get too ambitious and you'll be pulling all your hair out, good luck.
